5. Join a forum for beginners. Do you like the idea of talking to other guitarists that are struggling? Find a forum where everyone else is talking about their beginning hardships and you could get some inside tips on chords, picking, strumming, cool runs, or anything else that might entice your brain.
6. Sign up for an online course. The never-fail solution to playing the instrument in a shorter period than most of your friends is to sign up for an online course. They're the hottest thing out in the internet world and they're turning thousands of beginners into well-taught guitarists. Usually they offer some free things too like:
* Software
* Metronome applications
* Chord books
* Scale sheets
* And even a couple free lessons to get you started
