Its warm year round climate makes it the ultimate destination fro a vacation. During the winter the temperature drops to 20 two degrees Celsius, rising to 30 4 degrees in summer. It tends to be warmer on the coast than inland. It rains less in the north and west than in the south and eastern areas.
The first languages are French and English, but Creole is also used. Their automobiles are right hand drive, as they drive on the left side of the road. Most of the populace are Indian, but there are quite a few Chinese, Africans and Continentals. The primary faith is Hinduism, making it ht exception in Africa, where all the other countries main faith is Muslim.
Maybe one of its most famed residents was the Dodo. This creature was sighted when the Europeans first discovered the island. Sadly it vanished in no more than 80 years after they had first set foot on this land.
It is renowned for once having been home to the Dodo. This weird bird was first seen by early Western european settlers. It only took another eighty years before it vanished.
Mauritius has heaps of activities available as it is a top tourist destination. These activities include championship golfing courses across the island, so that even the most ardent golfer can find their perfect course. There are many spas with world class treatments to choose between. It's also got plenty of duty free shops especially to cater for holiday makers.
If you want to go underwater diving then you won't be disappointed in Mauritius. There are a considerable number of fish that live in the coral reefs, and also on the numerous wrecks round the reefs. If you do not like getting wet then you might chose to take a submersible to see the sights in the ocean in complete comfort and safety.
There's some great deep sea fishing to be had. The waters contain blue marlin, black marlin, several sorts of shark, and also yellow tuns. It should be easy to hire a ship from the majority of the hostels.
The whole of Mauritius is beautiful, and is definitely worth exploring. This can be done on foot, by car, or hiring bikes or quad bikes.The island has many forested areas with concealed waterfalls.
