Newcastle based company Cottages of Northumbria Ltd continues to grow despite the difficult economic conditions. This company has grown from a team of just one in 2008 to a team of 4 and has recently set up a fresh office on Portland Road in Jesmond.

The business was established in 2007 by Rick McCordall and Jeremy Middleton to get occupancy across seven holiday properties they own in the picturesque coastal village of Seahouses. Now this company advertises seventy five cottages on two website generating high levels of occupancy in holiday properties located for the county.

“The easy reason why this company has grown so much in the final year is determined by our ability to get high levels of occupancy across our cottages, including during off peak periods. Owners of holiday cottages have seen for themselves the bookings we have been able to achieve and we continue to attract owners wishing to get more revenue from their property”, said Rick.

The company also provides the full property management service for holiday home owners. This service is flexible and includes, property maintenance, cleaning and laundry, emergency call out and much more. Cottages of Northumbria Ltd also helps investors to uncover properties and begin generating revenue.

With a background in property management and tourism, and a noticeably love from the Northumberland Coast, Sales Manager Lyn Cole joined this company in June. She may be joined by Alice and Nadine, making a young and vibrant team based at the newest office on Portland Road in Jesmond.
“Northumberland is growing very quickly as a holiday destination and occupancy rates were up around 35% in 2009. We expect the numbers of tourists to our region to increase again in 2010 and we're constantly in search of more properties to satisfy the demand and offer our customers a better choice of places to keep,“ said Lyn.
