For those who didn't, they can only have a grim reality check of the career market that they will soon be flung into.
Medical schools and doctors are just too many nowadays, based on a survey. Suitable jobs in their fields of specialty can barely be found by around 10 percent of specializing doctors according to a study done by the American medical association. A study that is funded by a private firm espouses the wholesale closing of medical schools in the US due to too many physicians and also for medical schools to admit students 20 to 25 percent less.

One senior medical student said he considered anesthesiology until he realized it may be difficult to find work. He avers that there's just too many of them now. But then one female doctor on the American medical association board rivals these claims of too much supply of doctors for she states that there are still tons of areas like her own rural town that demands more doctors.
She says they take the risk that their best and brightest may not choose the medical profession because they're hearing all this doom and gloom when they don't know whether that's the case or not . Despite the uncertainty, many young doctors are optimistic, perhaps spurred by the popularity of TV shows with medical themes, making medical school applications high. Another female doctor finishes positively by saying that while they no longer make that kind of money and hold the autonomy they had before, she still states that this is the best profession in the world.
