Have you ever heard the phrase "The worst day golfing, is always better than the best day at work"? That phrase would apply perfectly to my morning at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course today. As I leave my driveway, and head south towards the lake at 7:00am, it became painfully obvious by the dark clouds and bent over trees, that hitting the ball "straight" may pose a hearty challenge? Now, the thing about North Idaho weather, is that it can change drastically in the span of a 60 second TV commercial, so I summoned up a cautious optimism. As I pulled up to the Valet Parking area, my first thought was "Did hurricane Earl get lost"? The White Caps on Lake Coeur d'Alene looked like many of the scenes I have seen on the TV show, "The Deadliest Catch" !! Heading to the first tee, I saw that my playing partners had already decided that, even though the rounds were my treat, I was going to hit last ??? That was Ok with me because I needed a few extra minutes to re-tie my left golf shoe, as the string broke during my first attempt !! I should have guessed that this was a sign of "tough times ahead" !! To make a long story...endless....my 9.5 handicap quickly turned into about a 20, as the gale force winds took control of not only my golf ball ..... but my confidence !! The moral of this story is......KEEP YOUR DAY JOB !!! I hope you all have a blessed day, and always remember...."Drive for Show....Putt for Dough" !!! Out.....
