Today I will assume you have already read about some basic candle making tips, prepared your work surface before beginning your project and you are ready to begin.

Now bear in mind, just because you have laid out your work area, covered your counter top in case of spills and you are equipped for the worst, you shouldn't let anyone relax and bring out the sloppy bug around your work area. It's a funny thing how being equipped makes those around you drop their guard and let accidents happen. Your top priority should be safety! OK, we are ready to begin and talk about today's candle making tips.

1. One of the secrets to candle making success is good wax management. You know how everyone says that a watched pot never boils? Well if you ask me, the wax has a mind of its own and melts when it feels like it. One good virtue to have when making candles is patience. So here's my first tip for candle making success: be patient.

2. It's also very imperative that you buy the proper tools for the job. Take this advice to heart especially if you want to put up your very own candle making business: a nice double broiler is a wise investment. With this clever tool, the water is placed in the bottom pan and the wax in the top pan. The top pan with the wax in it "never" comes in direct contact with the stove "heating element" on the top of that stove. Once you have one, fight the urge to work the tempertature knob every so often; allow the wax to melt at its own pace. Don't hesitate to pay cash on a good double broiler; you'll discover soon enough that it's worth the investment!

Its true that others won't entirely support the idea of having a double broiler (you would need to give extra cash for this). Their advice is "you can melt your wax with just a regular pan on the stove". Sure, you can do this, but do you just want to melt wax or do you want to take the most secure route while you make beautiful, high quality candles?

3. Finally, it's best if you know how to recognize that when wax moves from a solid into a liquid state it becomes more flammable. Overheating the wax increases its risk of ignition. This is why using a double broiler is important. Think of your double boiler as a safety precaution for you candle making operation.

Things always come out so much better when you use the proper equipment. It's a must to be safe as you have enjoyable and experiment while you take steps to master the wonderful craft of candle making. Hope you have learned quite a lot with these candle making tips. Have enjoyable while you make your candles!
