More often than not a bikini line shave might be worse instead of better if you do not do it properly. If your skin is prickly or sensitive following shaving, you’ve most likely questioned whether you should have shaved in the first place. Thankfully, there are several steps you are able to follow to make the process of shaving the bikini line as straightforward and painless as possible, so that you could concentrate on looking your best any time your bikini line happens to become exposed.

As with everything, preparation is fundamental to success. If you have shaved your bikini line previously you should be aware of the appropriate preparation. Failing to organize can lead to a higher degree of irritation or discomfort after trimming. Simply use a pair of scissors or some clippers and trim down excess hair in the area. You might want to do this a few days ahead of the actual trim as you may need to get familiar with having less hair in the bikini region.

Before you start trimming your bikini line, locate an excellent razor and ensure that the blade is sharp. Next, it is a great idea to properly lubricate the area before shaving. To start with, take some soap and create a lather around the area you wish to shave. Now, grab your preferred trimming cream and use it to lubricate the area even further. It is necessary that the area is lubricated sufficiently to ensure that pain, irritation and discomfort levels are negated and prevented wherever possible.

The ideal position to shave your bikini line is where one leg is positioned at right angles to the body and is secure. You will not like to risk slipping or sliding about when shaving and therefore, many times alternative positions more suitable for you. When you’ve got your razor at the ready, begin shaving from the back of the shaving area and try to keep the line straight, continue trimming the whole way to the front of your body. Make sure that you do not shave the same area more than once during any trimming session, as doing this may cause further irritation.

Once all of the hair you would like to remove is gone, you should rinse the shaven area with room temperature water to lower irritation. Gently dry the area and apply a thin layer of deodorant in order to reduce the likelihood of developing razor bumps. Ensure that you do not apply deodorant to areas that remain unshaved. Normal underarm deodorant will work just fine, as long as you remember to use it after each time delicate areas like the groin area are shaved.

Although shaving may make your bikini line look less ugly, do not forget to leave a significant period of time between every bikini line shave so that you do not develop a rash.
